Finnair is soon opening a new year-round route to Los Angeles and we are now looking for a competent AIRPORT SERVICE MANAGER, LAX
to lead and manage the Finnair operations at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). In this role, you will strive to ensure safe, high quality and economical ground handling services for Finnair passenger flights and make sure these operations are in line with authority regulations, agreed specifications and set quality targets. Acting as the primary Finnair representative at LAX, you have a key role in in overseeing operations including but not limited to, ground handling, catering, cleaning, fueling, and cargo operations, thus ensuring smoothly running services for our customers.
With solid understanding of airline, airport and ground handling operations, applicable authority regulations as well as knowledge of the local airport and its stakeholders, you will liaison with service providers and authorities locally. Monitoring service provider performance, skills and training qualifications are an important part of your role. You will also get to use your pedagogical and presentation skills to train our partners.
We expect you to have excellent communication and strong people skills to develop fruitful partnerships locally. As Finnair's key contact at LAX, you need to take an active role and have a “can-do” attitude in resolving any problems which may arise. To do this successfully, you should be able to make independent decisions, even under pressure. Comprehension of ground handling business, handling agreements and Service Level Agreement together with solid negotiation skills are also needed in managing relationships with different stakeholders. As an Airport Service Manager, you will get to learn new digital systems and tools and use your innovativeness. Strong English skills and a valid driver's license are a must. Why should you join us?
